Andy Chinn

Andy Chinn began working at Ross Strategic in 2007 and provides environmental policy project management, strategic planning, data analysis and visualization, and stakeholder group support across a wide array of projects. Prior to joining Ross Strategic, Andy worked on policy and development for a national non-profit environmental organization. He has also worked as an ecological and historical guide on the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River in central Montana and taught English in Ecuador.

Andy currently supports the National Governors Association Federal Facilities Task Force, a coalition of state regulators overseeing the US Department of Energy’s cleanup of nuclear weapons sites. Recent work includes a study on attitudes towards development of renewable energy projects in rural Washington State, analysis of investment options for the Adaptation Fund’s climate work, evaluation of climate networks and climate adaptation projects in Mexico and Central America, and work with the Climate Advisory Team and Climate Action Team, multi-stakeholder efforts aimed at developing climate change mitigation strategies for Washington State. Andy is proficient in data visualization platforms including Tableau, Kumu, and Microsoft BI and has developed compelling data visualizations for several Ross Strategic clients.

Andy has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis and Clark College and a master’s degree in international policy studies, specializing in environmental policy, from the Monterey Institute for International Studies. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, fishing, and backcountry camping.
