Jennifer Major

Jennifer Major is an experienced evaluator, facilitator, researcher, and writer with a deep commitment to advancing human, animal, and environmental health. Her background in health policy and environmental health, along with specialized training in epidemiology and infectious diseases, enables her to approach complex health challenges with a multidisciplinary lens.

Since joining Ross Strategic in 2007, Jennifer has worked closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on a broad range of public health initiatives, including environmental health, health equity, injury and violence prevention, asthma, childhood lead poisoning, and the health impacts of climate change. Her evaluation work has supported leading philanthropic organizations such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Kresge Foundation, and The Colorado Health Foundation in refining their strategies and assessing their impact on health outcomes. Jennifer also collaborates with non-governmental organizations like the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists to develop tools and resources that strengthen the capacity of state, territorial, and local health agencies. Her projects have addressed public health informatics, health issues affecting Native American communities, injury surveillance, and disaster preparedness and response.

Before joining Ross Strategic, Jennifer served as a senior health policy analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where she supported Congressional decision-making on federal health programs and policies, including vaccine shortages, pandemic preparedness, and healthcare utilization.

She holds a Master of Public Health in infectious disease epidemiology from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Seattle Pacific University. Outside of work, Jennifer is an eight-time marathoner and enthusiastic gym-goer who enjoys road trips in her camper van with her adventure dog and cat—and she’s known for crafting a great cocktail.
