Ellen Maier

Ellen Maier joined Ross Strategic in 2000 and currently serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. Over the past two decades, she has played a key role in shaping the company’s operations, growing from her early days as a bookkeeper into a trusted leader who now oversees a wide range of business and financial functions.

Ellen leads the firm’s budgeting and forecasting efforts, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and manages the annual fiscal closeout. She also oversees payroll, accounts payable, and employee reimbursements, and manages several of the firm’s contracts with federal, state, and local clients. An acknowledged Excel enthusiast, she finds nothing more satisfying than overhauling complex spreadsheets to be both highly functional and engaging. With deep institutional knowledge and a practical, hands-on approach, she keeps daily operations running smoothly while supporting long-term financial planning.

Outside of work, Ellen is an avid creator: she sews and knits unique garments, bakes a wide spectrum of treats from artisan bread to elaborate pastries, and enjoys hiking and traveling.
