Sarah Shadid

Sarah helps organizations and coalitions work together to address complex environmental and governance challenges. She designs and facilitates collaborative projects that bring structure, clarity, and energy to systems change. Her approach centers on the three dimensions of every project: substance, process, and relationships. Sarah integrates these to connect sound technical work with inclusive engagement and trusted partnerships, helping groups learn, adapt, and act together.

She works across environmental and public health issues, with deep expertise in the human dimension of water systems, including the institutions, relationships, and decisions that shape how people and nature share and manage water. Her portfolio includes partnership and planning efforts with the U.S. EPA Office of Water and national water associations; strategy initiatives that guide sector direction, such as the National Roadmap to Close the Water Access Gap with the Vessel Collective; and multi-year collaboration and learning networks with organizations like the BHP Foundation’s North American Water Resiliency Network.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys walking around Seattle to make sure the historic landmarks are still where she left them. When not acting as an amateur architectural historian, she can be found reading, eating pretzels, and hanging out with her husband and very cute son.
